Can’t the dog poop out? Is there any good way to solve it?
Anyone who raises dogs will probably find that when dogs poop outdoors, they will circle in circles before defecating. Why do they do this? What are the reasons why a dog cannot poop out? Let me tell you about it below!
1. Dry and hard stool
If you can see the stool near the dog's anus, but simply cannot pull it out, then in most cases it is considered that the stool is too dry and hard. In response to this situation, you can feed the dog some medicine to lubricate the stool, or use medicine to dilate the anus. At the same time, you need to ensure the dog's daily exercise to promote intestinal peristalsis.
2. Constipation
If the dog just does not defecate for a long time, or frequently makes defecation postures but does not defecate, then the main cause is constipation. At this time, it is recommended that the owner feeds the dog an appropriate amount of honey water or medicine containing lactulose to achieve a laxative effect, or use Kailuo on the anus to achieve a laxative effect.
Also note that when feeding dogs, you need to provide them with enough drinking water, paired with an appropriate amount of water-rich fruits and vegetables, to promote gastrointestinal peristalsis and avoid constipation.
3. Intestinal obstruction
If the dog cannot poop out the poop and is also accompanied by symptoms such as vomiting, loss of appetite, depression, etc., then it should be considered that the intestinal obstruction is caused by the dog accidentally ingesting foreign objects. In this case, you need to take your dog to the pet hospital in time to take an X-ray examination to see if there are foreign objects in the dog’s intestines. If it is determined that a foreign body is present, it will need to be removed surgically.
4. Unable to defecate voluntarily
If a puppy under one month old cannot defecate, it should be considered that the puppy at this stage is not able to defecate voluntarily. At this time, the owner needs to use a cotton swab dipped in warm water to stimulate the puppy's anus to help the puppy defecate.
