Chris Poole, a cat lover from abroad, loves his kittens Cole and Jam very much. He decided to celebrate International Cat Day by doing something different for his beloved feline companion and created something fun. His idea went so well that some people found it online and he even asked Chris if he could use the ideas! Using 50 regular cardboard boxes, Chris fashioned a cat maze with hidden handling surprises. Holes are cut in strategic locations to allow cats to pass through, while random boxes are opened at the top so his cat can jump over the maze "walls."

Watching the video, it's obvious that Cole and Marmalade have an awesome, smart human dad who loves spending time watching his fur babies enjoy exploring. Healthy cats are essentially programmed to investigate new objects, as well as hide and track anything that moves.

A cardboard box maze is a great example of this creative device, allowing cats to use both of these instincts and providing an ideal claw-sharpening surface. This stimulation is critical in preventing cognitive impairment in cats, such as feline dementia.

To help your feline friends live long and happy lives, you can do like Chris and make ordinary objects your kitty's wonderland. Although he purchased new boxes to create the maze, the remaining shipping boxes can be used as shoe boxes and are enough to provide hours of fun for your own furry child. Sneak some hidden treats in there so they can look for food.

In order to satisfy their cat owners, cat slaves spend a lot of time and money!
