"There are unexpected situations in the sky, and dogs have good fortune and good fortune at any time." The dogs also have difficulty breathing and have unexpected situations. It is hard to imagine and face. The cause of the accident may be an accident, disease or suffocation and suddenly stop breathing, especially the upcoming sultry climate, and the incidence rate is much higher than that in winter. Therefore, as parents, we must understand some urgent treatment methods in order to save their lives at critical moments!

Emergency help professional institutions

Artificial respiration (AR) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) are urgent actions to restore blood flow and oxygen in important organs. First of all, we need to understand that when the master of the family has these symptoms, we should contact the pet hospital as soon as possible and send it to the hospital! Because in the face of an emergency, veterinarians can deal with health crises better than us.

4 steps to learn CPR, save one more life

· Difficulty in breathing

· Weakness or lethargy

· Loss of consciousness

· Sudden illness

· Serious injury or trauma

Confirm whether CPR is needed

First, we can check the life characteristics of cats and dogs to help them determine whether artificial respiration and CPR are needed.

Perform a breathing test

Touch your chest, feel their hearts ups and downs, or place your hands in front of your cat's nose to confirm if it is breathing. You can also take a clean mirror and place it in front of your nose to see if mist is formed.

Heartbeat Check

Place your ear (or stethoscope) on the left side of your chest near your elbow and listen for any heartbeats. Their heartbeats range from 180 to 200 times per minute.

Can you feel the pulse? Check the pulsation. The femoral artery is located on the inner thigh, close to the place where the legs come into contact with the body.

The lips, gums discolored

The normal color of the lips and gums should be pink. When hypoxia is hypoxia, it will appear blue or gray, and poor blood circulation will appear white.

Cytopulmonary resuscitation for them

When breathing, pulse, and gums are blue/gray, we need to undergo urgent CPR. CPR is composed of three main components, airway examination, artificial respiration and heart compression.

airway treatment

① Let them lie sideways first, gently lift their necks, and tilt their heads slightly upwards;

② Carefully open their mouths, check whether there is blood, vomit or foreign objects in the mouth, and clean them if possible; (It is necessary to note that the small bones at the back of the cat's throat cannot move, and are part of the cat's throat)

③ Straighten the tongue forward and then gently close their mouths;

Artificial breathing

① Straighten the neck, inhale briefly into the nose, and inhale every 4-5 seconds; (I have received training in CPR for babies, so use a similar breathing intensity)

② Pay attention to their chest movement, and when you inhale, your chest should rise at the same time. Relax after exhale. After about 3-5 breaths are given, check the pulse and breathe again.

③ If you still have no breathing, continue to repeat at a breathing rate of 10 times per minute.

Cytopulmonary resuscitation

① Check the heartbeat and pulse;

② If there is no sign, place them right side down on the flat floor;

③ Cover your thumb and other fingers on both sides of its chest (behind the elbow), and then use the courier to compress the chest to about half of its normal thickness;

④ Press the chest about 15 times every 10 seconds, and perform artificial respiration every 10 presses.

CPR steps performed by pet hospitals

① Place an intratracheal catheter for artificial respiration;

② Intravenous catheters are placed to facilitate emergency medication and infusion;

③ Take epinephrine and other emergency medications to stimulate the heart and breathe.

In general, it is to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation after a pet is tested for breathing and pulse, and if necessary.
