According to the British media Times, if Romero is sold this summer, Tottenham Hotspur’s asking price is 70 million pounds.

It is reported that Atletico Madrid is preparing to increase its pursuit of Romero, and they have contacted the players again, but there is still a certain price gap between the two clubs. Tottenham said that domestic news in Argentina said that Tottenham had accepted a £55 million offer and did not match the facts.

Tottenham thinks Romero is one of the best defenders in the world and will only consider offers that match its strength. Currently, Maguire has the highest defender transfer fee of 80 million pounds, followed by Guvadior of 77 million pounds, Van Dijk of 75 million and Wesley Forfana of 70 million pounds respectively.

The Times said that Tottenham and Atletico Madrid have the possibility of taking a step back, especially when Romero insists on leaving the team, Tottenham also needs to sell players this summer to supplement the signing funds. However, Atletico Madrid also knows that Levi has a tough attitude towards the top players in the team. Previously, Kane, Bale, Modric and Berbatov are examples. Romero has two years left on his current contract and the players are expected to start resuming training next week.
