Amorin: My biggest problem is that the players believe in the formation issues mentioned by the media, and I am very angry 😠
The Athletic reported that Amorin believes the core problem of his coaching is that the players trust the media about his tactical system.
When asked about his prospects for his coaching position, Amorin said: "I'm not worried about it, and no one here is a fool. We all know that to advance this coaching program, we have to achieve results. But sooner or later we will reach a point where everyone can do nothing - because it's a huge club with many sponsors and two bosses, and it's really hard to achieve a balance.
"I want to see my team keep a consistent way of playing football regardless of winning or losing, but we are not doing that at the moment. Even the most basic things in football that anyone can do, we didn't do well.
"So my biggest problem is that my players will believe what you (the media) say, 'The team's problem lies in the tactical system'. This annoys me because I watch the team every day, and I can point out to you that no matter what tactical system is, we need to maintain a consistent style of play, the same impetus, the same intensity and concentration. As long as we can do this, it doesn't matter what the tactical system is." Amorin added: "This is crucial because no one in the world can be completely unaffected after hearing and seeing all the comments from those who understand the ball. But I know very well that I watch Manchester United more times than those media people add up - after all, they have to watch all the Premier League games and then make their point of view.
"My opinion is completely different from them, because I not only watch the game, but also look at training, I understand my players, know what they are doing, and always work the way they are. If you just listen to various voices from the outside world, you will not be able to gain a foothold in this club. ”
Amorin said that no player had proposed to him to change the tactical system. "Everyone, I am the head coach of a wealthy club. Should I let the media decide what I should do? This is absolutely not possible, this situation cannot be sustained. ”
"I communicate with the players every day and explain to them the current situation of the team one by one. We are not always playing 3-4-3. We need to take a comprehensive look at each part of the competition. This team has tried different tactical systems over the past few years, but at that time you (the media) were still saying that the team lacked a sense of identity, had no clear style, and had all kinds of criticisms.
"So the problem is not in the tactical system, but in the details, in the way we play football. I understand everyone's thinking - what will happen to this team if we change the tactical system? I don't know, maybe a team can win more games with a different formation. But if we don't change some key issues, even if we change to a 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 formation, we won't win the championship. That's the core I want to emphasize to the players. I don't want to change your (media) perspective, I care about my players. I can say with certainty that they are listening to your voice and taking these views to heart - because we don't win now. But they have to believe me, because I've watched Manchester United more times than all of you combined."
