Mirror: Manchester United s £2 billion stadium plan may face delays, construction companies are also involved in the San Siro project

According to the "Mirror" report, Manchester United's £2 billion new stadium plan may face delays. The reason is that Foster + Partners, the famous architectural firm responsible for the design of the project, was also selected by AC Milan and Inter Milan to rebuild the San Siro Stadium.
Foster + Partners has been given the go-ahead to build the new San Siro Stadium, with the aim of completing it in 2031. Reports suggest the company has even turned down the Birmingham City project due to conflicting priorities. This has sparked fears that United's project could be delayed.
Manchester United clarified this. The club confirmed in a recent fans forum that Foster + Partners has currently only been appointed as master planner for the wider Old Trafford redevelopment project, with no formal appointment made for the engineering and construction contract for the new stadium itself.
A club spokesman said early design work had been intentionally paused until land consolidation and fan needs were clearer. The spokesman emphasized that the final timeline depends on land, financing and cooperation from key stakeholders.
