Cobe: Villa and Newcastle both want to Real Club goalkeeper Remiro, but the player rejected the invitation from both teams
Cobe Radio reported that Real Sociedad goalkeeper Remiro has rejected the invitation from Newcastle and Villa.
Villa regarded Remiro as a reliable alternative to Argentina's goalkeeper Martinez, and the goalkeeper himself publicly acknowledged the interests of Premier League clubs in recent interviews. Newcastle's invitation was delivered in July, but it was not even entered into the negotiation process of Real Sociedad's office.
Both clubs had preliminary contact on the 70 million euro termination clause of Remiro, but the players refused their invitation.
Remiro made it clear in an interview in July: "I have never considered leaving. I am extremely happy here and eager to continue to grow and improve. I always pursue victory and fight for the highest honor."
Remiro's current contract will expire in 2027. The goalkeeper also commented on the club's transfer status: "I see that everyone is in good shape and new players are excellent. I am eager to win and compete at the highest level. I want to achieve it here, but it requires higher requirements. The team must redouble their efforts."
