Pickford: When I m not with England, I often team up with Maguire to play Call of Duty
Pickford was interviewed and talked about the various details he had participated in the England team training camp.
What is an essential item in your suitcase when participating in the training camp?
is of course a glove for competition. I will always make sure that the matchday gloves are in good shape and will definitely carry them in person – this is especially important as a goalkeeper. I will prepare a pair for each game and bring a few more pairs for training.
What "luxury goods" will you bring?
Mobile phone charger is definitely a must. But to say "luxury" should be my gaming laptop. In this way, when I have free time, I can play games like Call of Duty with my teammates. How do you like to spend your free time during the training camp?
I usually play Call of Duty - either play with friends at home or team up with Maguire; I occasionally relax and chat with my teammates, or watch several episodes on my iPad.
Who do you usually sit next to the England team competition site by plane or bus?
In the past, it was usually Walker or Maguire. I have basically been like this in the past seven or eight years, but this training session, I will most likely sit with Stones.
What kind of personality do you think you are in the team? How will your teammates describe you?
I feel that I am more motivated on the court, but I am relaxed and peaceful off the court. I like to have some fun and play with everyone, but overall I am quite calm.
In the leisure area with ping pong tables and golf simulators, I'm always happy to come over and have a golfing. I can bring some positive atmosphere to the team, but more importantly, the whole team must have a good aura, and I think this is exactly what our team is good at.
Participate in the national team training camp, what is your favorite thing?
means being able to stay with your teammates. They are all very good people, and the atmosphere of everyone joking and joking is great!
How would you summarize this feeling when you wear the English team jersey and represent the motherland?
For me, this is the best thing - I have longed for the opportunity to wear England jerseys since I was a kid, and now my dream comes true.
What are the most memorable moments in your England career?
There are many unforgettable moments. Being able to participate in four major events - the World Cup and European Cup every four years - to represent the motherland in international competitions is already amazing. But if I had to choose one, now looking back, the 2018 World Cup match against Colombia should be the most memorable. The victory of that penalty shootout is of great significance to England and the entire country - it is not just because I saved the penalty, or Eric (Dell) scored the winning penalty.
