It s always hard to decide whether to leave or keep? Experts teach you how to find "clutter that just takes up space" and throw it away
As the seasons change, many people begin to put away their summer clothes and put on long sleeves in preparation for the annual cleaning of their homes. Although cleaning up and getting rid of items can often be frustrating, home organization expert Robin Antill recently shared an unexpected but extremely effective method that can help people identify which items should be kept and which items should be discarded.
New York Post (New York Post reported that Antill said in an interview: "Just put daily items at home upside down for a day, such as books, shoes, mugs or even photo frames, and then turn them back to the front the next time you use them. In this way, you can clearly see which items are used frequently and which items are used. It’s just clutter that takes up space unintentionally.” He pointed out that this “inversion method” also applies to closet organization. “Hang all the clothes hangers backwards, and then hang them back up after each wear.” Antill recommends continuing for a few months, and eventually you will be able to see at a glance which clothes are never worn again.
Experts also remind you to try to avoid trying certain popular cleaning methods when reorganizing your home. Benjamin Franklin Plumbing warns that many people pour the cleaning agent "Fabuloso" into the toilet tank in order to keep the bathroom smelling like flowers. This practice may cause damage. The company stated: "We do not recommend placing Fabuloso or other all-purpose cleaners in the water tank. Such products are corrosive and may damage rubber gaskets and seals, causing leaks or continuous toilet operation, which will in turn increase water bills."
Despite experts' warnings, some plumbers responded humorously on TikTok, saying that such mistakes have made their "jobs stable." One worker joked: "Please continue to do this, so that I will have a job for the rest of my life." Another person also jokingly left a message: "Just seeing someone searching for 'Don't pour Fabuloso into the toilet', I know that this problem is really common and ridiculous."
