TSMC’s new sky-high price is NT$1,500, and Taiwan stocks hit a new high of 27,900 points
U.S. stocks closed higher on the 20th, with the Dow Jones Industrial Index rising by 515.97 points and the Nasdaq Index rising by 310.57 points. Taiwan stocks rose simultaneously today, with the index breaking through the 27,900-point mark in early trading, setting another record high, reaching a maximum of 27,969 points, an increase of 280 points.
TSMC American Depositary Receipts (ADR) rose by US$2.62, or about 0.89%, to close at US$297.7. TSMC climbed to 1,500 yuan today, setting a record high price, up 20 yuan, with a market value of NT$38.89 trillion, contributing about 160 points to the market.
High-priced stocks such as Hon Hai, MediaTek, Xinhua and Shixin-KY all rose, and the electronics stock index rose by more than 1%.
